Mai Ram’s books and publications

The yoga books written by Mai Ram are very important not only for her students but for everyone who walks the path of yoga, because they hold not only spiritual knowledge but also a direct transmission of the Guru’s consciousness. These books are regarded not simply as literature but as living spiritual teaching. Mai Ram’s books present practical yoga, which helps one go deeper into yoga practice and philosophy. They work not only through the intellect but also open up practice and a deep understanding of spiritual truths. The master’s books are written not only from knowledge but from direct experience. They carry the energy of living light, which readers feel. Students say that when they read a book, they feel the Guru’s presence, support and transformation. The books give a clear understanding of the spiritual path and help one recognise the patterns of one’s own ego that stand in the way of spiritual growth. Guru Mai Ram does not write from intellectual philosophy but from realisation, and there are no superfluous thoughts in her texts, only the essence. Every sentence can be repeated and contemplated. The master’s experience teaches how we can live consciously in everyday life and grow spiritually.

The Bhagavad Gita (“The Song of the Lord”, 4th–3rd century BCE) is one of the most outstanding literary and philosophical works not only of ancient India but of all humankind. The Bhagavad Gita teaches that a person who has freed themselves from passions and fear and has passed through the purifying flame of wisdom reaches a state of merging with the Absolute, with Brahman. In artistic power and force of thought it stands alongside the Book of Job, Ecclesiastes, the Tao Te Ching, the letters of St Paul or Plato.
